Leyland Golf Club

Club Officials for 2012

As all past captains have previously stated it is undoubtedly a great honour and a privilege to be invited to be Captain of Leyland Golf Club and I will endeavour to uphold the excellent standards already set.

I am eagerly looking forward to the year ahead and as Captain I will continue to promote Leyland as the friendly and welcoming club that I have known for almost 50 years. I also hope to meet as many of you as possible both on the golf course and at the many social events throughout the year.

The Lady Captain and I have agreed to jointly support the Rosemere Cancer Foundation during our year of office. I’m sure that many of you will be familiar with ‘Rosemere’, perhaps from personal experience or the work of the Golfers for Cancer group. It provides additional facilities and equipment for patients treated at the Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital and the local Cancer Units throughout the northwest and we look forward to your support for this very worthwhile, local charity.

In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the messages of support that I have received and to wish you all a happy and successful 2012, both on and off the golf course.

Andy Birkett

Captain

It goes without saying how honoured privileged and extremely delighted I am to have been invited by the Past Lady Captains to be Lady Captain in the Olympic year, 2012 and I would like to thank them sincerely.

With the help of my friends and members I will endeavour to maintain the high standard set by all the past Lady Captains to represent the Club to the best of my abilities.

My charity this year is the Rosemere Cancer Care, which Captain and I are jointly supporting and we hope to raise much needed funds for this very worthy charity.

I look forward to meeting many of you both on and off the course and at the many excellent social functions held throughout the year.

Thanks to everyone for all your good wishes and I would like to wish everyone health, happiness and a good golfing year in 2012.

Jessie Higham

Lady Captain

I am delighted to have been given the honour of being your President for 2012. I will endeavour to fulfil the responsibility of the President’s duties, to the best of my ability, and will of course be totally supportive of the Captain, Lady Captain and Junior Captain.

I look forward to the company of many members both old and new over the next twelve months, and wish all members a successful year. Thank you to everyone for your good wishes.

Alan Otto

President 2012

I feel truly honoured to be selected to represent such a fantastic group of juniors for 2012. I look forward to building on the success of the Junior Team from last year whilst also helping the younger juniors to progress. I would like to take this chance to wish the Captain, Lady Captain, President and all the other members good luck for the year ahead.

James Parker

Junior Captain
